This is a Plant Operator position at different thermal facilities, which encompass water treating, high pressure steam generation, sour oil wells, and oil treating facilities. The role, under the Operations Senior Coordinator, involves safely and efficiently managing the facility to meet production targets.

The position is exposed to a 12-hour shift schedule and is rotational between day and night, which includes weekends and statutory holidays. Working conditions can be in variable environments: from height, confined spaces, noise, and harsh weather conditions. Competitive pay rate and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of a facility within a team in the operation

We are on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. Our green steel production in Boden will be powered by one of the world’s largest green hydrogen plants, running on renewable electricity. Instead of emitting large amounts of CO?, as in traditional steelmaking processes, our primary emission will be water.

By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase.  The facility will impact, and shape, the surroundings as well as the perception of Boden, with the aim that it will be seen as a symbol for the much-needed green transition of heavy industry.

Role Overview:
We have an opportunity for a Lead Project Cost Engineer to support our Boden project. As part of our visionary team, you will have an important role in ensuring impeccable cost control and compliance with financial regulations for one major area of the Boden Project - one of the largest industrial projects in the history of Sweden. You will be engaged on an initial 6 - 12 month renewable contract, with the option to extend; and the role will be based our project site in Boden, Sweden.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervision, cost management for major areas, estimating in alignment of project objectives. Providing support to the given EPCM Contractors and assistance in resolution of problems.
  • Co-ordinate monthly meetings with EPCM contractors to review Cost Reports, cashflows, change management etc. and establish a process to accurately forecast cost upwards from construction contractors and supply vendors.
  • Coordinate the interface with stakeholders, including finance and accounting, to prepare written cost analysis and reports on timely and accurate forecast of project cost status.
  • Coordinate with Area Managers on cost review meetings monthly. Interface with the cost team and finance to prepare monthly internal reports.
  • Prepare and assist the Head of Project Services in the development and delivery of written/oral presentations to stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of the ongoing work of the project to discern adverse trends, potential problem areas, opportunities and participate in their proactive management.

Relevant background, qualifications and/or experience:
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in cost control on major industrial projects, ideally with EPCM contracting approach. Strong grasp of project delivery phases and associated activities, as outlined in cost management procedures and guidelines.
  • Proficient in the application of cost engineering, estimating, and planning practices outlined in AACE and PMI standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cross-functional collaboration, including interfaces with engineering, procurement, construction, safety, quality, finance/accounting, planning, and document control.
  • Familiarity with cost control software and the ability to analyze cost-saving value engineering scenarios, implementing effective reporting in line with guidelines.
  • Demonstrated expertise in estimating techniques, including overseeing major project estimating development and reviews.
  • Foster good communication and inter-personal skills to ensure a smooth teamwork.
  • Proactively work to anticipate challenges, collaborating effectively with various stakeholders, EPCMs and third-party suppliers to address potential issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities and background:
During the FEED and EPSCC Phase, the service holder shall be responsible to:
  • Review and comment Contractor / Supplier documentation in a timely manner (including load list, system selection studies, electrical drawings, specifications, requisitions, etc.).   • Provide support in his field of expertise, to compare and evaluate the CPF-Wellpads FEED Contractors during the FEED competition phase (2).
  • Assist the Procurement in the preparation of the documents for purchase, the bid evaluation and inspection.
  • Ensure proper reporting, highlighting critical issues and proposing remedial actions.
  • Effectively engage in project cost reduction initiatives.

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent
  • Significant experience in Oil and Gas projects
  • Demonstrated engineering experience in electrical system design for onshore LNG Projects, commissioning and start-up.
  • Practice-based knowledge of AS (Australian Standards): mandatory.
  • Affiliation and membership with Australian recognised professional bodies is desirable.

PROFILE

With a DUT/BTS degree in physical measurements, automation and industrial computing, the position is open to holders of a bac+2 with at least 10 years of experience in the industrial, energy (preferably offshore O&G) or naval sectors and in engineering.

We are looking for an employee with the following requirements:

 
  • Knowledge of LV electricity, physical measurements, pneumatics, automation and industrial computing.

WORK TO BE CARRIED OUT

The main technical challenges are:
1. The upstream facilities and the pipeline export are located in a remote, dense and rainy tropical environment.
2. Infrastructures (road, quay, air-strip, base and camps) and river navigability shall be operational early during the project execution.
3. Ensure compliance of CPF design with Highest HSE Standards, Local requirements and IFC Standards.
4. Minimization of facilities footprint and of greenhouse gas emissions.
5. High seismicity area potentially impacting the design of the facilities.

The ‘’PNG environment’’ challenges are:
1. Papua LNG project will be spread along the Gulf of Papua. The area is highly environmentally sensitive with widespread biodiversity wilderness areas and coral reefs.
2. PNG is a young developing country with limited industrial sectors, skills shortages and high level of unemployment.
3. Train and employ PNG technical workforce to comply with the national regulation and the mobilization of National workforce in future construction teams.
4. Manage the risk related to the Project acceptability in an area which is culturally and linguistically diverse characterized by limited experience in Oil and Gas development projects.
5. Empowerment of Landowner companies established by people from the project area of influence in order to ensure in country sourcing activities.
6. Ensure a consistent National Content strategy between upstream and LNG plant extension.
7. Anticipated significant increase of the subsidiary activities and staff during the project execution.
8. Time and cost to obtain key project permits may be significant due to limited references of oil and gas development projects in PNG. The Papua LNG Project will be developed with the objectives to maximize economical results by optimizing the reserves, the schedule and/or reducing the costs, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus. The PNG content of the work will also be a key factor to its success

We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source an OJT Instructor. This is a long-term contract role. Please see details below.

Title: OJT Instructor 
Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1 month notice)
Location: Qatar Site / Doha HQ
Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 8-10 hours per day

--Experience Required—
Job Purpose
•    Design and develop competency-based training courses, training assessments, workplace learning material and tests and advise line departments on development and corrective action plans.

Key Job Accountabilities
•    Design, develop, teach advanced level theory and practice, and assess using various learning methodologies in an assigned technical subject area, role plays, simulations, technology delivered training, and workplace learning or e-learning.
•    Analyse the knowledge and skills gap in alignment of OJT (On Job Training) programs matrix and design learning materials to meet individual needs, in coordination with Line supervision.
•    Design and develop simulator training and assessments or source appropriate test materials where necessary. Evaluate learner performance and prepare reports of progress.
•    Design and develop Process/Technical Unit training and Procedure Competency Assessments or source appropriate test materials where necessary.
•    Recommend learning solutions with course curriculum and responds to feedback from learners and makes adjustments or enhancements to the learning solution based on feedback.
•    Develop operations process scenarios and modify lesson plans and learning materials and use instructional methods and media effectively.
•    Liaise with Simulator Engineer and Training Coordinator to develop the operations process scenarios to maintain Operator Training Simulator Hardware and perform OTS software housekeeping.
•    Maintain and follow-up trainee records including attendance and assessment results in LSO (SAP Learning Solutions). Communicate feedback reports for Training Coordinator on trainee progress.
•    Ensure operations process safety standards are implemented and followed.
•    Ensure recommendations and enhancements regarding effectiveness of training resources are implemented.

--Minimum Requirements-
Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Knowledge and Key Skills
•    Minimum 6 years’ experience oil and gas industry, including 3 years as an instructor.
•    Experience in plant process, production equipment and understanding of basic DCS process control systems.
•    Experience in procedure development, analysis, and plant Operations and Maintenance.

  • Review and understand sales solution requirements.
  • Co-ordination and preparation of inputs for systems proposals including designs, layouts, costs, schedules, and technical documentation to meet submission deadlines.
  • Identification and evaluation of controls, safety, and IT (WMS and WCS) requirements and considering them in the layout design.
  • Understanding the customer’s operation and considering them in the layout design.
  • Identification and evaluation of opportunities for alternatives, design innovation and differentiation.
  • Calculate machine and conveyor performances by applying application rules.
  • Sourcing information and quotations from other departments, internal product centres and external suppliers for equipment & services and to ensure all quotations are technically and commercially sound.
  • Liaise closely with in-house product & knowledge centres and external suppliers for pricing and technical information.
  • Ensure designs are properly optimized and all proposal cost estimates and associated inputs are accurate and competitively priced while maintaining technical integrity.
  • Identification of any technical project risks.
  • Facilitate pre-sales design and costing reviews with key internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Commercial)
  • Ensure smooth and complete handover of proposals and tender submissions to engineering following project sale.
  • Adoption and/or development & refinement Costing tools to improve the speed and accuracy of the costing process and in to ensure a meaningful format of presentation for other functions who will receive these as inputs.
  • Keep abreast of solutions and technologies within the organisation and amongst competitors in the market.
  • Provide internal updates & presentations related to technical product/solution information
  • Support sales with customer visits for technical discussions, clarifications, and site surveys.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Key Requirements:
  • Diploma/ Degree in engineering related discipline
  • System Design with Industry product and/or application knowledge in Logistics
  • Experience using AutoCAD, knowledge of 3D design is of advantage
  • Automation controls knowledge is of definite advantage
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel)
