The planning engineer will prepare and maintain schedules, develop and review project baselines, and monitor and track progress. Supports the project(s) in all other aspects of scheduling analysis and special studies.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Prepare summary and detail-level schedules.
  • Develop full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules for projects.
  • Perform monthly progress updates and create target comparisons and periodic look-ahead schedules. Monitor and track progress at detailed and summary levels.
  • Always ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and periodically update cost and/or resource-loaded schedules.
  • Participate in all project schedule reviews as required at Operations Review Meetings (ORMs) or other sessions.
  • Participate in the development and preparation of proposal presentations, including developing preliminary bar chart schedules and staffing charts.
  • Provide support and training in the use of project and scheduling software to office and job site staff.
  • Conduct schedule and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reviews.
  • Work together with multiple teams to coordinate both schedules and models.
  • Interpret data, compile reports, and deliver presentations when required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, or other related engineering field
  • Minimum of five years experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating, and other areas of project controls in an oil and gas environment.
  • Advanced experience with scheduling software applications such as Primavera on projects; large project experience is desirable.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop detailed job plans that include the following steps, durations, material, and equipment needs and cost estimates: Resource requirements, Sequence of scheduling, Gantt chart, Cost estimate
  • Develops detailed job schedules and plans for oil and gas projects. Develop execution work planning package and track progress. Must be familiar with cost engineering practices, particularly in cost and scheduling.
  • Coordinate planning resources by small capital projects cost estimates, and schedules, provide general coordination, and monitor the progress of activities per the job plans and worklists
  • Coordinate with project managers on job plans
  • Update plans with any approved change orders and develop new plans that arise
  • Develop regular reporting cadence to communicate planned vs actual progress

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in walkdowns of Telecoms systems and subsystems to verify installation according to drawings/specifications, raising punches for non-compliant work
  • Sign-off of “A” check-sheets for Telecoms systems and subsystems

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience in the Oil and Gas industry (preferably Offshore) with exposure to Construction, Completions, and/or Commissioning of Telecoms systems
  • 10+ years' experience with Construction, Completions, Operations, Maintenance, and/or Commissioning of Telecoms Systems
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the USA

Competencies:

  • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with a variety of people/disciplines both internal and external to Cenovus
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and maintain effectiveness in varying environments and with different tasks, responsibilities, and people

The Environment Engineer is a member of the Process Technology team, reporting to the Process Technology Team Lead. This is a key position on the team, who will be providing subject matter expertise and deep technical support for environmental initiatives across company's asset to maintain our license to operate. The Environment Engineer needs to have a process engineering background and must know a few key technology areas like gas treating (sour gas processing), high temperature firing, VOCs handling, end to end water chemistry, waste incineration and waste emissions management including fugitives. The Environment Process Technologist is expected to demonstrate knowledge to skill level understanding of environmental risk areas to:

  • appropriate calculations to meet environmental standards taking into account the operating and design envelopes and ensure the alternative methods to assess environmental performance of key equipment are made ready and tested.
  • and design the tracking and operationalize the reporting tools to meet requirements in air and water permits. This includes being able to interpret key technical data with appropriate dimensions/units and perform appropriate conversions for air and water pollutants as expected by regulators..

  • Current EEHA competency and FSEng qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
  • Strong experience in client, inter-discipline and construction interface management.

  • Ensure electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning spare parts, consumables, equipment, special tools etc are sufficient and available in time to commence the phases of commissioning
  • Ensure vendor requirements for pre-commissioning and commissioning have been captured through the design phases and are ready for build and commissioning phases of the prototype/project
  • Lead, supervise and support the reporting of commissioning execution to ensure that all technical, contractual information is properly recorded, collected and available for inspection/reference as required by law regulations, company policies and company procedures

Qualifications and skills required:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering Electrical or trade qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of commissioning experience
  • Demonstrate experience in leading a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and outlook
  • Demonstrate experience in working with Completion Management Systems (CMS)

--Experience Required--
Key Job Accountabilities
•    As discipline engineer responsible for provision of the required quality technical services.
•    Carry-out Concept definition and engineering studies, design, scopes and preparation of engineering documents as per approved standards / procedures. 
•    Verify and sign-off technical designs and bids in accordance with approved standards. 
•    Deliver timely service to meet the project requirements.
•    Advice and support in the discipline engineering matters in the area of expertise through all stages of projects.
•    Plan and co-ordinate activities of a team of engineers for providing technical services to project executing departments, including review of execution strategies.
•    Support discipline head/lead to manage Client discipline standards. Participate in technical assurance and standardization activities to ensure compliance to approved discipline standards.
•    Approve / endorse technical deviations / waivers/ variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
•    Support to ensure that all applicable environmental and process and other safety technical policies are fully implemented. 
•    Support development of competencies and skills in his area including structured training for Qatari Engineers under development.
•    Co-ordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure that the work-scope is comprehensive and clear.
•    Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.
•    Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
•    Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
•    Responsible for acceptance of new vendors proposed during project phase.
•    Responsible and accountable for technical integrity and safety of designs.
•    Requires minimal guidance and instruction.   
•    Work accomplishments are not subject to third party design checks. 
•    Assess and recommend technical suitability of Tenderers to perform the work, within piping/mechanical engineering areas of responsibility.
•    Assess suitability of requested deviations from Company and international Standards and Codes of Practice.
•    Support Qatari development activities by ensuring that Qatari Nationals receive proper job training and development, in order to realize the full potential for local talent, and maximize contribution to project success.

Qualifications
•    Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering
•    MMUP Grade A certified engineer preferred

Knowledge and Key Skills
•    A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure and civil projects. 
•    Skill / knowledge of International, and/or Client standards related to his area of expertise.
•    Experience of managing time, cost and quality in engineering projects within multiple project environment.
•    Good Communications and Presentation skills and be fluent in English.
•    Experienced in latest relevant design software.
•    Experienced to resolve technical challenges related to relevant  eEngineering work and adjacent discipline issues. 
•    Ability to prioritize and conclude multiple tasks in a timely manner to meet scheduled deadlines alongside unscheduled urgent activities.
•    Ability to coordinate with and promote teamwork amongst stakeholders, co-workers and external organizations.
•    Proficiency in use of piping/mechanical engineering analysis software like CAESAR-II and drafting software like AUTOCAD.
•    Experience in 3D modelling of piping system is desirable.
