Our client, a major company in the energy sector, is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to work within their facilities located in Martinez, CA for an initial 2-year contract.

The Project Controls Scheduler will support the Engineering Department in project development and execution. This includes execution of standard budgeting, forecasting, cost control, earned value and change management practices throughout the life of a project. This role has a strong focus on the engineering phase work which includes engineering level estimates (usually factored estimates with a basis of estimate) and engineering deliverables, schedules and long lead procurement management and engineering accruals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop communications and reporting networks for data gathering, review, analysis and presentation of recommendations to ensure projects remains on schedule and within budget.
  • Communicate schedule status & recommendations to the project teams to maintain the projects within approved budgets and cash flow constraints.
  • Work with project teams to develop and maintain project work breakdown structures according to MPC & Project Controls standards.
  • Review and maintain project performance measurement systems (Primavera P6) and reports for contractor progress.
  • Ensure both MPC and contractors adhere to project control procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Support Project Controls Supervisor with monthly portfolio and project status reporting.
  • Interface with various departments to gather information, communicate issues, and resolve problems.
  • Prepares and keeps current master program and project plans as well as sub project plans for monitoring and tracking.
  • Provides information as needed on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedule.
  • Identifies and records the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled. Evaluate actual engineering progress and provide regular schedule updates.
  • Interfaces with Operations, Owners, and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
  • Contributes to the development of working schedules for Estimating, prior to execution date, which sufficiently illustrates the sequence of work activities and project timeframe.
  • Prepares and issues preliminary phased schedules.
  • Incorporates resource loading data into schedules as required.
  • Consults the appropriate project team members and MPC’s estimating procedures as a means of ensuring that proper planning is completed prior to the commencement of work.
  • Assists Project Managers in creating short-term schedules, monitor such schedules to determine impact on master schedule, and help in formulating actions to correct scheduling problems.
  • Develop & maintain regular manpower estimates/histograms for current, upcoming, and future work for short term and long-term forecasting manpower needs.
  • Perform EVM analysis on projects in engineering phase.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or an equivalent field preferred.
  • Computer Proficiencies: Preferred proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Advanced Excel Experience) and experience with SAP. Planning and Scheduling software Primavera P6 is required.
  • Experience Preferred: Minimum of four years of experience in executing, contracting, planning and scheduling projects work required.

If you are selected as the Automation Technician, you will be providing the automation department with critical day-to-day troubleshooting and support for SCADA field hardware, communications, and related software. You will work closely with vendors, contractors, and operations field staff on the direct support of all aspects of field SCADA equipment.

Accountabilities:

  • Align with all applicable DOT and OSHA regulations, NEC/NFPA requirements, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead with a focus on safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance and actively participate in Safety Action Plans.
  • Follow company energy isolation procedures (LOTO).

Bakken Overview
The Bakken trend is a sequence of liquids-rich sand and shale layers in the Williston Basin, which stretches across western North Dakota and into Canada. The company's position in the Bakken development area is comprised of approximately 560,000 net acres, which include 382,000 net mineral acres and 178,000 net leasehold acres. The company focuses on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin. During 2022, net production averaged 95 MBOED. There were 43 operated wells brought online during 2022, bringing the total to more than 800 operated wells online at year-end.
Key Accountabilities
  • Supports Operations group and ensure that contract obligations and lease agreements are complied with in regards to the scheduling of Meter Test, calibration verification of the Secondary Element, inspection of the Primary Element, and Natural Gas Sampling in accordance with ConocoPhillips Measurement Policies and Procedures.

  • Assure the Process discipline issuance, review, and approval of technical documents.

General Description

KEY DELIVERABLES
The Industrial Hygienist’s deliverables include providing occupational health guidance to the various levels.  The Industrial Hygienist will ensure that all aspects of occupational health rules, laws, regulations and company initiatives are addressed by the organization.  Additionally, the Industrial Hygienist will actively ensure that the company’s entities have a good working relationship with all government agencies.

Our client, a major EPCM within the Mining Industry, is looking for a Project Director to work on an initial 12-month contract based in Perth.

You will be managing a complex project in excess of $1 billion, where the nature of the position is predominantly associated with developing and growing relationships with a major client. The Project Director will liaise with senior management personnel within client and contractor organisations to optimise the delivery of this flagship project within the Mining and Resources Sector.   

Day to day you will coach and mentor senior project management personnel in improving the project outcomes and champion continuous organization improvement.  You will also lead a dynamic and talented team and manage and develop key client relationships. 

ABOUT YOU

  • You will have extensive experience in delivering detailed engineering projects with major mining companies in Western Australia. 
  • You will be a collaborative and influential leader, who can effectively communicate to all management levels and manage client expectations. 
  • You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in the Resources sector, ideally 20+ years’ experience working in engineering design and construction, Senior Management and leadership experience including direct line supervision of managers in technical disciplines. 
  • You will also have a demonstrated business acumen.

Qualification

Experience

Job Description:

Airswift is seeking a Contract Plant Operator to work with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry in Lloydminster, AB. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

Upstream Thermal Operations currently has opportunities for Contract Plant Operators at our Edam and Vawn Thermal facilities. The successful candidates must reside within the area near the facilities. Turtleford to North Battleford range along highway 26.
 
 
The Facility Operation consists of water treating, high pressure steam generation, sour oil wells and oil treating facilities. Reporting to the Operations Senior Coordinator, the Plant Operator is responsible for ensuring it is run in a safe, efficient manner while maintaining the necessary production requirements.
 
Work schedule is comprised of a 12-hour shift rotating between days/nights including working weekends/stat holidays (7 on/7 off). You will be required to work in a wide variety of conditions due to the nature of the operation (working at heights, in confined spaces, with noise, in extreme weather conditions etc.)

Qualifications:
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Minimum 3rd Class Power Engineering certificate is required; however, candidates with 2nd class certification or progress towards 2nd class certification are preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the operation of steam generating equipment, control panel, oil processing and/or well equipment and associated process and systems.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset.
Experience in equipment isolation, safe work permitting and hazard analysis.
• Proficiency with computers is required (experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, SAP, and a field data capture system would be considered an asset).
• The ability to work in a team environment and a willingness to accept increased operational responsibility.
• Solid understanding of safety and regulatory standards and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License (experienced).
This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
 
Responsibilities:
• Operate the Facility in a safe and effective manner, while working collaboratively as part of the operating team
• Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per Company’s guidelines
• Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities. Complete area operations records. (e.g. volume balances, log sheets, work permits and required reports)
• Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the site’s operating philosophy. Support on-site maintenance contractors by communicating Company’s requirements, policies and procedures, while leading by example
• Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments to new employees as required
• Comply with all HS&E requirements in the performance of this Position's responsibilities
• Comply with High Reliability Organization standards and expectations

Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Planner/Scheduler to work on a 12-month assignment (subject to extension) in Greeley, CO
 
The planning engineer will prepare and maintain schedules, develop and review project baselines, and monitor and track progress. Supports the project(s) in all other aspects of scheduling analysis and special studies.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • Prepare summary and detail-level schedules.
  • Develop full Critical Path Method (CPM) logic-generated baseline schedules for projects.
  • Perform monthly progress updates and create target comparisons and periodic look-ahead schedules. Monitor and track progress at detailed and summary levels.
  • Always ensure strict adherence to ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Develop and periodically update cost and/or resource-loaded schedules.
  • Participate in all project schedule reviews as required at Operations Review Meetings (ORMs) or other sessions.
  • Participate in the development and preparation of proposal presentations, including developing preliminary bar chart schedules and staffing charts.
  • Provide support and training in the use of project and scheduling software to office and job site staff.
  • Conduct schedule and Work-In-Progress (WIP) reviews.
  • Work together with multiple teams to coordinate both schedules and models.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering; Mechanical, Industrial, or other related engineering field
  • Minimum of five years experience in Cost Engineering, Cost Estimating, planning, scheduling, estimating, and other areas of project controls in an oil and gas environment.
  • Advanced experience with scheduling software applications such as Primavera on projects; large project experience is desirable.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop detailed job plans that include the following steps, durations, material, and equipment needs and cost estimates: Resource requirements, Sequence of scheduling, Gantt chart, Cost estimate
  • Develops detailed job schedules and plans for oil and gas projects. Develop execution work planning package and track progress. Must be familiar with cost engineering practices, particularly in cost and scheduling.
  • Coordinate planning resources by small capital projects cost estimates, and schedules, provide general coordination, and monitor the progress of activities per the job plans and worklists
  • Coordinate with project managers on job plans
  • Update plans with any approved change orders and develop new plans that arise
  • Develop regular reporting cadence to communicate planned vs actual progress
  • Analyze and recommend resolutions of work problems and execution in solving work problems
  • Adjust plans with feedback from execution
  • Perform critical and near-critical path analysis
