We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Trainer & Assessor - Production on a 12-months contract based in Darwin, NT and the client would like to consider candidates based in this region due to COVID 19 regulations & constraints. Please see details below;
Title: Trainer & Assessor - Production

Objective
Reporting to the Senior Training and Assessment Advisor, the Production Trainer and Assessor is responsible for assuring the technical competence of Production Technicians; for both the company and Contractor Work Force (CWF).
The Production Trainer and Assessor is responsible for providing support to the Production Leadership group to ensure their respective teams are competent to safely and reliably operate the equipment on the facility.
The Production Trainer and Assessor will conduct technical training & assessment, manage competency records, mentor shift personnel, and provide input to the development of new and existing training and assessment material.
Responsibilities
Occupational Health and Safety
- Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures. Ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all times.
- Maintains a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environment in relation to all aspects of the plant whilst performing training and assessment activities with Technicians/Trainees/Apprentices.
- Actively participate in HSE meetings, audits and initiatives as required.
- Adapt and promote the company HSE Culture- Comply, Intervene and Care.
Compliance
- Conduct training and assessment in accordance with the company’s specifications, standards, guidelines and procedures.
- Manage the training administration and record keeping requirements.
- Participate in internal training and assessment auditing across all facilities
- Comply with all requirements of the company Fitness for Work Policy
- Comply with requirements of the Safety Case.
- Manage own development
- Identify individual training opportunities for personal development plan which may be of benefit to individual and are flexible to the organisational requirements.
- Timely execution of agreed training and development plans.
- Manage own performance
- Achieve goals set and in line with the expectations of the Senior Training and Assessment Advisor
- Contribute to team development
- Actively contribute to peer development and training within areas of competence / specialty.
- Support the OTLs and CWF Supervisors with the competency profiles of Technicians and assist if their minimum requirements are not met that an action plan is in place to amend.
Planning
- Collaboratively work with Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure shift competency requirement schedules are maintained
- Identify potential opportunities for training of Technicians with equipment outages/ startups etc.
- Utilize the Trainer and Assessor mailbox and calendar to effectively schedule training and assessment demands.
- Ensure adequate equipment, resources and SME support is available to effectively conduct all training and assessment requirements.
- Identify training gaps of personnel who have been deemed not yet competent for their assessment and provide recommendation how these can be addressed
Technical Expertise
- Deliver training to small groups on areas of expertise
- Execute training and assessment in accordance with the schedule (note: not restricted to facility or discipline).
- Thorough knowledge of Production Job/Role Competency Profiles and associated Training Plans.
- ISSoW training and assessment of Production personnel to level 3.
- Development and/or review of Production training and assessment material.
Quality
- Demonstrated attention to detail and process focus.
- Ensures all training is delivered to a high quality with the objective of setting up the candidate for success in the assessment.
- Ensure a consistent, fair and robust assessment process is utilized in accordance with the company Competency Assessment documentation
- Ensures all training administration and record keeping is maintained to a high standard.
- Ensure discipline is demonstrated regarding confidentiality of restricted documentation.

Qualifications Requirements
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Skills & Experience Requirements
- Trained and competent Technician who understands the Production requirements of HC production, utility and processing plant and equipment within all areas of the operating facility
- Experienced in individual and group theoretical/ practical training.
- Experienced in gathering the required evidence during theoretical/ practical assessments to prove competence.
