Key Responsibilities and background:
Minimizing the impact of construction projects on the environment and assisting project management in managing approval procedures
Planning, controlling and professional coordination of specialist studies and reporting from approval preparation to approval and implementation
Evaluation of test reports, implementation plans and mitigation proposals as well as other relevant technical studies in the context of strategic environmental impact assessment processes
Evaluation and processing of relevant technical contributions to the environmental permit documents
Coordinate disciplines within the Environmental Planning Team, including species protection, water conservation, archaeology, emission protection, soil protection, forest concerns, etc.
Act as the main contact person for coordination and advice on technical issues with clients, experts and authorities
Development and presentation of solutions for technical questions and act as an interface between the environmental planning team and the professional delivery teams
Monitor complex sub-projects with high complexity
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
Bachelors or master’s degree as a minimum academic qualification with preferably published papers to demonstrate expertise in the field envisaged
A clear and demonstrable technical understanding of the relevant legislation and case law in Germany that applies to the environmental planning of large infrastructure projects
An understanding of the current planning law is an advantage
Experience in defining assessment techniques, determining the importance of impacts related to construction projects and identifying and implementing appropriate environmental mitigation measures
Experience in the professional evaluation of large infrastructure projects
Experience in cross-project collaboration and building relationships within the project team and with external stakeholders
Strong ability to produce clear, concise, and technically correct reports and to present technical insights to clients and other stakeholders
Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and good knowledge of English
