Airswift is seeking a Civil Designer to work for a major Oil & Gas client on a 1-year contract with the possibility of being extended. This role will support their operations in Calgary, AB.

The Civil Designer is accountable for collaborating within a multi-disciplinary environment which includes working with all engineering disciplines to plan and design Earthwork’s projects. This position is best suited to individuals who have great multi-tasking skills and can quickly interpret clients’ needs while being organized and team-focused. The successful candidate will have a strong AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting background and be proficient in using ArcGIS 10.2.

Responsibilities

• Work in conjunction with the asset teams to plan existing and future earthworks projects such as pads, infrastructure, access road corridors, geotechnical investigations and winter drilling programs
• Prepare conceptual sketches and detailed grading drawings to assist development teams to make informed effective decisions
• Optimize proposed project footprints through multi-disciplinary collaboration. Analise, quantify, and communicate cost effective and risk averse alternatives.
• Coordinate meetings to achieve multi-disciplinary consensus on footprints prior to survey and Earthworks execution
• Understand the Company’s safe work practices and procedures and implement into design standards and specifications
• Provide technical support on construction projects through estimating, quantity take-offs, surveying and material analysis using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or ArcGIS
• Attend all key Capital Field Project Scheduling and Planning meetings to ensure project timelines are communicated and adhered to
• General understanding of Company’s and industry environmental and regulatory guidelines and standards

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Diploma of Degree in Geographic Information Systems or Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent with at least 2 years of Oil and Gas experience
• Must have strong computer skills and a minimum of 8 years of experience producing civil earthworks designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D software
• Corridor modeling, mass haul diagram plan production, stormwater management and design experience, slope, pond and ditching design, culvert sizing calculations/analysis, Autoturn and Autolisp programming would all be considered assets
• Ability to assist in developing automated tools using ArcGIS 10.2 model builder and Python to automate surface planning activities
• Solid understanding of earthwork construction practices
• Strong desire to learn, execute, improve, and take accountability for company and team success

Requirements:

You will use your expertise to:

  • on technological services to meet company business principles and objectives, including environmental performance, monitoring, testing and process optimizations.
  • and nurture a close working relationship with other Technical and engineering SMEs through networking and execution of studies and projects.
  • tools & keep abreast of new technologies and drive case for change that will improve environmental performance.
  • and optimize effective liaison with process technology, environmental, digital, operations and engineering teams. Closely interact with the laboratory to ensure methods, limits and sample schedule provide the correct feedback for supporting production, engineering and various process test-runs.

To be successful, you will have:

  1. Eng. in relevant engineering (e.g., Chemical, Process, or Environmental).
  • least 10 years of relevant technical experience, preferably at or associated with an Operating Site.

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek a Materials Coordinator and Preservation to work in their facilities located in Cologne, Germany on a contract position with the possibility of extension.  

The activity of this service will focus on:
  • Monitor the supply chain and shipment of the material to be received.
  • Review and maintain the update of the Material List indicating ROS-ETD-ETA.
  • Maintain inventory database.
  • Prepare Local LPO to supply site requirements, following internal procedure.
  • Manage the warehouse following the type of storage indicated in the vendors' document.
  • Verify if the package of the material, boxes, crates, pallets etc. are per the transport specification and no evidence of damage.
  • Verify the packing list and PO and issue the report to procurement department in case of different quantities, different type, damage parts.
  • Verify the shock indicator in the package if showing is showing a possible shock (red color).
  • Prepare documents for the Insurance claim in case of damages.
  • Plan and coordinate the off-loading of the receiving material.
  • Plan and coordinate with sub-contractor(s) the collection of the material from the warehouse.
  • Verify and review the real preservation conditions of the material in the warehouse and at site.
