Our client seeks a Senior Environmental Advisor to join the early phases of a large iron ore project. The project itself will include mine associated infrastructure, support facilities, energy supply infrastructure, an ore processing facility, and a wastewater treatment plant. Operating on a 2/2 or 2/1 roster from Perth, you will be responsible for the overall collection of site data, managing permits and approvals and exploration. On offer is a 12 month contract. Your day to day will include;
- Onsite support and coordination of biological and heritage surveys & geotechnical investigations
- Development and management of site environmental plans in accordance with legislation and company standards
- Provide general environmental advice and support for site-based construction and staff
- Produce environmental performance and compliance reports and liaise with relevant regulatory and approval bodies
About you:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification, e.g Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or Management
- 6-8 years’ experience working in a mining environment and/or exploration
- Ability to work remotely and independently
- An effective communicator that can educate and provide environmental guidance to all levels of staff and management on site
- Advanced computer literacy and experience with GIS software
- Knowledge of the Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental regulatory framework
