Process Engineer – Bio-Monomer Synthesis

Company Summary:
The company (headquartered in Switzerland) is one of the Top 25 engineering companies worldwide in fluid engineering. They are looking for a Process Engineer to strengthen their Process Engineering Team. You will join a division, specialised in innovative mass transfer, static mixing and polymer solutions for petrochemicals, refining and LNG. The product offering ranges from process components to complete separation process plants, including licensing.
Responsibilities:
- Process design and calculations of entire chemical plants, from pilot scale to world-scale commercial plants
- Preparation of Basic Engineering documents
- Sizing of proprietary equipment
- Takes ownership for improvement and development of the technology - in coordination with R&D
- Sales support during tender phase
- Responsible for the process in project teams and towards our clients
- Participation in client meetings, support and advisory service at client’s site
- Start-up supervision of the company’s chemical plants
- Analysis and evaluation of comprehensive data from the company’s pilot plants
- Global travelling approx. 20%, kick-off meetings, on site supervision commissioning/start-up (3-6 weeks max at a time)
Experience/Competences:
- An University Degree in process, chemical or mechanical engineering; A solid knowledge at University level of chemical reaction engineering, in particular reaction thermodynamics & kinetics, heat & mass transfer preferred
- At least 5 years of experience in in process development/chemical/polymers/distillation/separation process/plant design
- Strong background in process design (theoretical / but also practical), Combination between practical (commissioning) / theoretical experience
- Experience in Distillation/separation technology and process modeling (PRO II, Aspen, Chemcad) is a plus
- Experience in a core discipline of engineering
- Key player in project teams and maintain regular contact to international client base
- Like to travel and spend time abroad for meetings and commissioning
- Fluent in English and preferably in German language
- Ability to adapt to people in other disciplines and various cultures
- Hands-on, dynamic and reliable personality with a passion for engineering works and process design
Other requirements:
- Valid EU Passport (no work permit or visa sponsorship available)
- Ability to relocate to/live in Switzerland permanently
