Our major client, in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a Plant Commissioning Technician to work within their facilities located in Midland, TX for a 6-month assignment (subject to extension).
Job Responsibilities:
- Commission, operate and troubleshoot newly constructed cryogenic gas processing facilities
- Responsible for completing and maintaining required reports, logs, and work permits
- Understands the Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) process and how it applies to the facility Process Safety Management program
- Capable of performing minor maintenance on engines, compressors, dehydrators, vapor recovery units, flares, separators, slug catchers, air compressors, and cooling fans related to initial process startup
- Work with outside vendors to ensure any equipment/system problems are resolved in a timely manner during commissioning
- Responsible for reporting, troubleshooting, and correcting abnormal operating conditions during startup
- Identify emergency situations and initiate Emergency Response Procedures
- Promote a safe work environment, implement current safety policies, and ensure environmental policies and regulatory compliance are being met
- May be required at some locations to monitor meters and gauges to maintain correct temperature, pressure, and flow of gas through system during initial startup
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical certification or equivalent training in energy-related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of stable work history in the energy industry and/or technical training in mechanical and/or electrical field
- 2 years’ experience commissioning cryogenic gas processing facilities
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with cryogenic gas liquid processing methods
- Experience with gas sweetening and dehydration processes
- Experience with plant control systems that can include Wonder Ware, Cygnet, or Ignition
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheet and word processing application
- Possess a strong commitment to personal and job safety including complying with state and federal regulations
- Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of mechanical equipment as well as good verbal/written communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethic
- Willing to work callouts, overtime, holidays, and weekends during the facility commissioning
- Willing and able to work the assigned schedule which may include rotating nights and days
- Willing to work at more than one position
- Work well within a team environment, and/or independently with limited supervision if needed
- Understands plant processing with ability to identify enhancement opportunities
- Ability to interface positively with corporate contacts and other field personnel
- Must be able to read prints, drawings, and technical manuals and possess the ability to prepare technical reports
Work Schedule: 7 days on/ 7 days off (12 hours per day)
