We are working with a Major Oil & Gas operator to source a Part time Payroll Officer working on 3 days per week based in Brisbane, QLD and the client would like to consider candidates based in this region.
Title: Part time Payroll Officer
Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)
Duration: 12 months (potential for extension)
Location: Onshore (Office based)
Working Schedule: 3 days per week, sometimes need to work 4 -5 days depend on the workload
Position Summary:
- This is a part-time role providing support to the HR Services Lead to deliver payroll and compensation services to the ABU.
- This role will assist in ensuring the processing and maintenance of employees’ salaries and benefits in accordance with Company Policies and Legal requirements, ensuring they are of a timely and accurate manner, as well as supporting the administration of other HR processes
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Interface with the inpat and expat management team and processes
- Interface with Bartlesville Shared Services (BSS) to ensure accurate provision of payroll services and timely issue resolution, local compliance requirements
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the BU and COE’s to develop, implement, and maintain HR programs, manage local third-party interface and relationships
- Assist with any testing and updates to support the business transition, including adapting local processes, forms etc as needed in support of the change and shared service model
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Services – Interface Role/Local Comp and Ben (Overall accountability for payroll delivery and services sits with Bartlesville Shared Services)
Local BU interface Points with Bartlesville Shared Services:
- New hire set-up and terminations processing
- SAP system management and organization structure
- Australia tax requirements, internal and external audits, including superannuation and other benefits payments and reconciliations
Local BU Services:
- Reporting services for payroll related matters and other business areas such as general HR reporting metrics, support for WGEA etc.
- Assist with reporting required for programs and annual processes including special recognition and systems, annual VCIP award unit verification process, salary adjustment process and notifications
- HR metrics, reporting services for payroll related matters and other business areas such as general HR reporting metrics, support for WGEA etc
- Provide assistance with any ad-hoc reporting requested
- Assist with ensuring payroll system is up to date with the latest upgrades from both local and government requirements, including comprehensive testing
- Perform checks on Annual Benefits programs such as Medical Insurance, Salary Continuance, Workers Compensation etc
- Ensure medical certificates are received in line with policy
- Perform quarterly review checks on the payroll system
- Assist with KPMG for any Tax Equalisation payments
- Point of contact with BU to assist finance team with queries relating to payroll
- Assist with any ad-hoc requests from broader HR Manager as requested
- Assist with the testing requirements for the introduction of STP Phase 2
- Assist with Next-Gen project by collating information as required and testing for the new system
- Coordination of employee service awards
- SAP organisation chart maintenance
- HR reporting and other data requirements
Experience & Qualifications Required:
- Business/Finance/Commerce related degree, or other tertiary qualification if obtained or relevant work experience in a similar role
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar HR role
- SAP experience as a front-end user, minimum intermediate knowledge level
- Strong knowledge and understanding of system testing
- Demonstrated high level of attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to service customers across all levels of an organisation
- High level of flexibility, adaptability, and resilience to lead and deal with change
