Methods Engineer – Ranville, France

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to seek a Methods Engineer with minimum of 5 years of experience, who will be responsible for a manufacturing and installation package of special machines in various workshops located in Ranville, France, on a contract basis.
Our client designs, manufactures and installs high thermal performance equipment for the transport of hydrocarbons. As part of an ephemeral project, the company is temporarily creating this position. For an LNG export terminal project in the USA, our client is responsible for the design, procurement and manufacture of a modularized cryogenic pipe-in-pipe system. This system will connect LNG storage tanks in the liquefaction plant to marine offloading jetties.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Appropriate the REX of the previous projects.
- Design of the equipment linked to the production of Pipe in Pipe including transfer trolleys.
- Design of weldment production station for pipeline preassembly with clamp installation and line-up machine.
- The machines and transfer equipment will have to consider the risks of contamination linked to special metals such as INVAR, Inconel, 304L.
- Inventory of existing equipment and adaptation of this equipment for the project.
- Drafting of technical specifications.
- Consultation with external companies.
- Proactive participation in risk analysis and failure mode analysis.
- Coordination of subcontractors.
- Considering the maintenance and robustness constraints of the equipment to be developed.
- Coordination of equipment assembly and testing operations.
- Controlling the operations carried out by the designer(s) initially, then the technicians, workers and subcontractors during equipment preparation and testing.
- Conducting tests for new equipment.
- Updating schedules.
- Participate in the production flow studies of the Plaquemines project.
- Writing regular reports to the Lead Method Engineer and the project team.
- Support in resolving potential HSE and quality issues.
- Participate in the acceptance of equipment on the Ranville yard.
- Technical referent for the correct installation and startup of new equipment.
- Formalization of the project feedback at the end of the mission.
Technical Skills Required:
- Trained as a general mechanical engineer.
- Experience in designing special equipment or setting up a new production line is essential
- Experience in the Oil & Gas sector would be a plus.
- Experience on a manufacturing site desirable.
- Computer skills (MS office) required, knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCad) would be a plus
- Skills in automation.
- QHSE exemplarity.
- Good writing skills.
- English level: Intermediate
