Airswift has been tasked by one of our key clients to seek a Logistics Analyst to join them in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The Logistics Analyst will have a broad scope of responsibilities related to logistics and operations, with duties focused on contract administration, bill of lading entry, demurrage, scheduling and other back office functions. Ideal candidate will have logistics, demurrage and/or accounting experience. In this role you will be responsible for:
Contract Administration
• Enter front office trades into the ERP System
• Review and compare trade details in the ERP against counterparty and broker confirmations. Resolve discrepancies in all trade details and issuing the proper correspondence.
• Communicate variances and corrections to the appropriate internal/external parties, keeping the system updated accurately
• Send commercial contracts to the external counterparty
• Manage and maintain the documents according to company policy
Operational support
• Organize and distribute documents internally and to 3rd party customers
• Enter loading/delivery details and other relevant information in ERP system
• Assist with the reconciliation of the sales volume and keeping track of terminal inventory
• Other ERP support and assistance as needed
Cost Analysis
• Enter trade cost accruals into the ERP system
• Match accrued costs with actual expenses for approval and payment
• Proactively manage cost clean-up at the end of accounting periods
• Recommend cost write offs based on terms and time Demurrage
• Develop and manage demurrage tracking system, intake of all claims
• Reviewing, analyzing and negotiating demurrage claims using the charter party and commercial contracts to verify and rebill.
• Entering and reporting demurrage costs in the system and reporting to internal parties.
Education, Experience, and/or Training
• Bachelor’s Degree, or 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
• Working knowledge of bulk shipments
• Previous experience with liquid bulk logistics and transportation agreements preferred • Prior experience in a physical commodity trading firm preferred
• Understanding of incoterms
