- Reports to OC Engineering Manager
- Ensure that the HVAC system equipment, controls and safety systems are designed, constructed, installed in a safe, operable, maintainable, cost-effective, and compliant manner that fully meets RoK regulations, the Future Growth Project (FGP) detailed engineering design, and applicable Project specifications.
- Ensure the final constructed, tested, and commissioned HVAC equipment, controls and safety systems are fully compliant with TCO and Project standards and contract technical requirements.
- Conduct problem solving for field installation, testing, commissioning, and start up issues that require managing, coordinating, and leading the cross-discipline and cross-functional SME teams.
- Strive to be innovative in resolving issues and problems in a way as to meet Project Technical requirements, but which also minimize cost, schedule, and claims risk with the contractors.
- Review, research, and respond to Contractor Technical Queries and Technical Exception (if any) requests. Interpret the intent of the design documentation and project technical and regulatory requirements, fully define tradeoffs, and prepare clear and concise responses to Contractors.
- Ensure Contractor Technical Queries and Technical Exception request responses are well researched, compliant with applicable specifications, regulations, and industry practice
- Ensure responses to Contractor Technical Queries are expedited to avoid construction schedule delays and potential contractor claims
- Develop strong collaboration, communications, and effective working relationships with site Project Site Execution Teams, Construction Contractors, Site Engineering Team, Systems Completions Teams, Operations start up personnel, and other Project and TCO functional groups needed to effectively perform your key job responsibilities.
- Provide technical guidance to mechanical completion, systems completion, and Operations teams regarding the design, testing, start-up, and operation of HVAC systems, controls, and safety systems.
- Work closely with the Quality Team to ensure HVAC systems are constructed, tested, commissioned and started up in compliance with all Project Quality, Regulatory, and Performance Requirements, and that all quality assurance documentation is properly captured.
- Ensures that Contractors are capturing all red line mark-ups for use in Systems Completion and Start Up activities and for later inclusion in final “As Built” drawings.
- Support all Engineering, Construction, Mechanical Completion, Systems Completions, and Start-up Teams needing technical assistance and guidance regarding the construction, testing, systems completion and startup of HVAC systems.
- Any other unlisted HVAC Engineering related works as dictated by the project needs.
