PLSV Engineering Coordinator plans and coordinates the execution of engineering services to ensure the successful delivery of engineering documents, studies, for offshore work or on loading bases, following best engineering practices and internal procedures.
The professional must work to improve the work processes of their respective discipline, as well as actively developing people.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting the preparation, review and approval of flexible/umbilical pipeline and/or equipment installation procedures for our operations/activities;
Contributing to the training of engineering professionals within the discipline and carrying out the functional management of internal and external training, exchange of professionals between regions, mentoring and coaching of the team's project engineers;
Responsible for managing the preparation and delivery of installation procedures within the scope of work, considering the constraints of schedule, quality, resources and carrying out all of these in accordance with the engineering principles and rules established in the BMS;
Interact with project and functional Discipline Leaders and/or Engineering Leaders to ensure deliveries are within the project schedule and engineering budget;
Ensure that the project schedule is aligned with procurement, manufacturing and installation activities, and within budget and required quality;
Actively participate in the identification, assessment and mitigation of project risks;
Encourage the project team to be aware of and report contract scope variations;
Ensuring the feasibility of construction and installation of engineering projects;
Coordinate the interfaces between the project and other parts of the organization involved in the project, such as Operations, Manufacturing, SCM, Doc Controllers, etc;
Monitoring the manufacture and acquisition of the equipment and structures required for offshore activities;
Providing support in preparing the mobilization of the vessels that will work on the project, as well as coordinating the engineering resources available to carry out the offshore scope of work;
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
University degree in Engineering
Postgraduate degree in the field desirable
English - Fluent;
Computer skills, safety procedures, negotiation, project management basics, leadership and people management, management of multi-disciplinary teams, and specialization courses in the field;
Knowledge of Flexible and Umbilical Installation Engineering and subsea equipment with PLSVs;
Macro knowledge of the interfaces between the installation engineering disciplines, Drawing Office, Structural Design and Installation Analysis.
Desirable experience with Flexible and Umbilical Installation engineering and equipment with PLSV-type vessels.

MAIN TASKS

  • Major project greenfield permitting and approval experience (including Environment and Social Impact Assessment, Impact Assessment Studies etc.)
  • Significant experience within Norway.
  • Experience in the provision of advice and recommendations on project development in relation to relevant assessment criteria.

In the role of Marine Engineer you are responsible for taking the role of an independent Marine Engineer on projects.  

  • You will contribute to deliver high-quality and cost-effective Marine Systems designs of products. You will particularly focus on FPSOs and potentially; Floating LNG products.
  • In this position you could experience occasional high workload (peaks in project scope for your discipline).
  • You could be; optionally requested to be on assignment in other project offices or shipyards around the globe on short or long-term basis.

 

Job requirements

Looking for candidates who have an MSc or BSc degree or equivalent (i.e. Professional Certification) in any field of Marine Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Higher Seafaring College or General Operational Technology (AOT).  

You have at least 2 years working experience in Marine Systems Engineering and Design (Preferably on Pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed phase).

Furthermore you have:

  • In-depth experience and sound technical knowledge in both conceptual and detailed design of (marine and production) systems on floating & production units (FSO's, FPSO's, Oil & Gas Carriers, Chemical Tankers, Drilling Units, Semi's, TLP) for the Oil & Gas Industry;
  • Good interface knowledge with related disciplines i.e. Naval, E&I, Piping, HVAC, Process, Technical Safety & Regulatory;

• Portable appliance testing, (PAT), of all appliances that are used by SMS employees in accordance with "Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment".
• Installation and testing of plugs / cables etc. as required on SMS test equipment.
• To complete AM/ME work as required
• Be utilised for offshore work (preferable)
• Be available to travel at short notice (reasonable notification given)
• Assist project engineers with laying out cable tray runs and sizing of cable tray at the design phase of the build, thus reducing the amount of on-site fabrication work.
• System FAT and function testing of hydraulic / pneumatic / electrical control panels and assisting supervisors with fault finding.
• Inspection, maintenance and repair of workshop assets, including but not limited to flushing skids.

Adhere to Client project procedures and periodically review and improve. Liaise regularly with the engineering and procurement team to monitor alignment with the critical deliverables and the expediting reports and commissioning schedule.
•    Review EPC Contractor’s progress reports; verify and endorse claimed progress. Review and endorse schedule and progress baselines and forecasts prepared by EPC Contractor. Review EPC Contractor’s project control procedures (home office and field control procedures) to ensure that Company’s requirements are being met.

•    Minimum of 10 years of major EPC project experience within the Oil and Gas Industry.

•    Experience in Primavera P6 scheduling tools, Power BI, advanced excel.
•    Knowledge of working with large construction data to produce KPI’s.
•    Expert knowledge of developing schedules; understanding of baseline, actual and forecast plans and progress data.

Job Purpose
•    Oversight, monitoring and verification of contractor’s schedule, schedule performance, progress measurement and reporting.
•    Develop KPIs by extracting information from contractor’s reports, deliverables to aid decision making.

Key Job Accountabilities
•    Provide overall construction schedule, progress measurement, and change management expertise to the Major Project Onshore Project. •    Monitor closely construction progress and highlight any delay on critical construction activities and its impact on project key milestones.

•    Carry out detailed schedule and progress analysis and provide forecast on critical construction scope of work. 
•    Coordinate closely with other EPC1 Lead Planners and EPC1 Head of Planning to ensure schedule alignment between areas as well as between construction and pre-commissioning & commissioning.

Airswift is seeking a Deputy Installation Manager to work on a Contractor position in Rio de Janeiro with an Oil and Gas Company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
Together with the Installation Manager, the services will be the focal point for all installation and pre-commissioning operation issues within the project team.
During the EPC phase, the services shall ensure that all operational deliverables and associated drawings are prepared in accordance with the installation engineering results and with due account of installation constraints and constructability aspects in order to comply with the installation schedule, and shall ensure that all deliverables related to Installation operations are issued by Contractor(s) in due time and fit for purpose.
The services shall ensure that all interfaces related to installation operations are dully dealt with and managed with other concerned packages (i.e. Drilling, FPSO).
During the installation phase, the services shall support the installation manager to
- Ensure a proper readiness of EPCI CTR marine spread
- Coordinate the marine spread approval
- Ensure that EPCI CTR has performed all necessary risk assessments, and that all findings are timely addressed before the operations
- Organize and supervise the work of all Company Representatives located onboard EPCI Contractor Marine spread on SITE
- Interface with other parties (Field Ops, Marine, others) for the coordination of the simultaneous operations
- Ensure that all the interfaces with COMPANY are properly defined and managed before and during the operations
- Anticipate and avoid clashes between EPCI marine spreads and vessels from other entities (drilling vessels, tankers, FPSO support, etc) involved on offshore activities.
- Review and validate when relevant the Management of Change Requests.
- Follow testing activities (FAT, EFAT, SIT, etc) performed by Contractor(s) as a preparation of the offshore operations
The services shall, in the performance of these responsibilities, contribute to maximise the NPV value of the project by finding means to increase quality and productivity and/or decrease investments.
The services is also responsible for the coordination of the “Marine Warranty Services” contract during the operation phase
.
The services reports to the Installation Manager and is responsible to support him/her for the reporting to the Project Manager.
The services supports the installation manager for the coordination and management of a team of several Site Company Representatives, and shall inform and motivate them adequately so that priorities are clear and directions for the performance of their duties are set to meet the objectives of the Project.
The services is also accountable for demonstrating an exemplary behaviour with regard to H3SE rules & requirements and for ensuring that H3SE requirements are duly implemented within his area of responsibility.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS 
Level / Diploma: Engineer, or equivalent

? Experience in similar services:  experience with supervision of deepwater offshore operations in relation with SURF activities.
? Participation to a recent deep-water project, including offshore operations. Project experience in Brazil is a strong plus.
