Our client, who operates in the Mining Industry is seeking a qualified Electrical Shift Supervisor who will be responsible for providing leadership to the Site Service Team of Electricians and contractors when required, ensuring that all Electrical & associated works under Site Service is conducted in accordance with site safety policies and procedures.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
- Supervise electrical maintenance tasks of subordinates
- Re-organise, plan & execute tasks involving available manpower, tools & materials in the most cost effective and efficient manner
- Ensure that the Departmental records are maintained, example; work orders, project files, break down analysis
- Maintain effective communication & cooperation with operating departments
- Ensure that the crew’s daily work plans are executed in conjunction with set and variable priorities
- Provide direction, on the job training and technical assistance for subordinates as required
- Perform daily running inspections on critical electrical equipment within site
- Ensure that all routine maintenance procedures are followed correctly and recorded and that alteration to job plans are provided to the Planning Section so that maintenance plans can be altered
- Evaluate and carry out Performance Reviews of subordinates
- Monitors Water and Sewerage Treatment Plant operating parameters to determine the current state of the plants and if maintenance is required
- Ensure all work orders are accurate and details are recorded correctly, and information is passed onto the
- Maintenance data clerk in a timely manner
- Manages the daily operation of the Electrical Site Service area in a safe and efficient manner
- Assist with managing daily operation of the workshop area in a safe and efficient manner
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required:
- Be a NATTB certified Electrical Tradesperson, with working knowledge of AS3000 wiring standards
- Possess a valid PPL Electrical License
- Five (5) years or more industry experience as an Electrical Supervisor
- Broad experience in all facets of remote/project site electrical infrastructure Maintenance & repair
- Basic understanding of Water and Sewage Treatment plants
- Basic Refrigeration skills
- Good knowledge of commercial/industrial food preparation equipment
- Exposure to Work Management Systems
- Have basic computer skills in MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Sound written and oral communication skills, in English and Tok Pisin
- Demonstrate excellent time management and organization skills
- Strong planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Well-developed coaching and mentoring skills
- Demonstrate matured approach and strong self-discipline
- Have a current and valid PNG’s class 3 or 6 driver’s license
