They are looking for a high-skilled and knowledgeable Design Engineer Plant Engineer to join their team and be responsible for pipeline design engineering. You will join a division, that specialises in innovative mass transfer, static mixing, and polymer solutions for petrochemicals, refining, and LNG. This division leads the way in ecological solutions such as biopolymers as well as textile and plastic recycling, contributing to a circular economy. The product offering ranges from technology licensing to process components and complete separation process plants.
Job Summary:
As the Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design of pipeline layout for projects. The Company’s projects are in the field of chemicals/ refinery/ petrochemicals/ water treatment industry/renewables/recycling and CO2 – methanol. To succeed in this role, you need to have a technical background and a relevant experience with AutoCAD software, Plant /Equipment/structural design, Caesar 2 (calculations), Navisworks, and Stress Calculations, be able to work on a project individually, and be a good team player.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of P&ID for chemical, wastewater, and pharmaceutical production
- Specification of manual valves and pipe material based on project specifications
- Creation of 3D equipment supports including the definition of nozzle orientations on equipment
- Design of steel structure specification drawings including grating drawings
- Specification of steel structures according to project specifications
- Piping design up to isometrics, including support concept and bill of material
- Technical support of purchasing in the procurement of pipe material and pipe fittings
- Interface coordination to the departments: project management, equipment design, Maintenance Strategy Review (MSR) planning, purchasing, and plant assembly
- Monitoring of schedule, cost, and hours within the Plant design department as support for the team lead
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Process Engineer
- Master’s Degree in a related field is a plus
- Experience with chemical plants or technical chemical background is advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field of plant planning and fabrication in an international environment
- Needs to have experience with AutoCAD software and Plant /Equipment/Structural design
- Needs to know Caesar 2 (calculations), Navisworks, and Stress Calculations
- Need to know Steel structures/process/ P&ID/3D modeling of equipment engineering or E&I (Electrical and Instrumentation)
- A team player attitude and good communication skills
- Customer-focused with advanced analytical skills
- Fluent English is essential and Fluent German is a plus
- Open to commute or relocate to Allschwil, Basel – Switzerland, 5 days per week on site
