Airswift has been tasked by LNG Canada Development Inc. Located at 400 4th Avenue SW Box 100, Station M Calgary, Alberta T2P 2H5 to recruit for the position of Day Supervisor Storage & Loading
Location: The initial on boarding may occur in Calgary but the primary work is in Kitimat, BC
Pay Range: $50.00 per hour – $135.00 per hour dependent on work experience and education.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with potential for additional hours during start up

Purpose & Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Production, the Day Supervisor Storage & Loading is a key technical role in the organization with responsibility for the safe and efficient startup of the plant and to provide support to the Production Supervisors in the asset readiness space as well as coordinate and align activities across the production shifts
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) for LNG storage and loading, LNG projects commissioning and start up, plant operations, troubleshooting and optimization
- Acts as block lead for Storage & Loading RFSU Block, review and approve the startup procedures and start up plans
- Lead LNG import, refrigerant import and LNG and refrigerant tanks cooldown activities
- Own the LNG storage and loading systems start up schedule and provide daily instruction to the shifts
- Prepare Project-To-Asset transfer and readiness for their RFSU block and coordinate across disciplines
- Ensure all HSSE in Transition conditions have been met and with the HSSE Manager, lead the handover of HSSE responsibility to the asset leadership team
- Support Pre-Start Up Safety Review and Statement Of Fitness for LNG jetty start up, LNG import and refrigerant imports
- During start up, work across the shifts to ensure alignment on priorities and close out of previous punches and readiness for next day’s plan to ensure flawless start up
- Act as coach and mentor to all frontline ops and maintenance LNGC staff and act proactively to fill any competence gap where necessary drawing from their own mega project CSU experience
- Act as competent technical authority for Operations e.g. approving permits and procedure MOCs as per the LNGC standard
- Act as incident commander during CSU period for emergency response activities as and when required
- During initial startup and early operations, act as SME for LNG storage and loading operations and lead a multi-disciplinary enhanced problem-solving team focusing on troubleshooting
- Activity lead from operations side for planning, coordinating, and executing all project aftercare and MOC implementation through the brownfield project organization
- Act as operations field lead for all project close out related activities post start up in close coordination with the production shifts to ensure all simultaneous operations are conducted safely in the live plant
- Ensure any outstanding remaining punch and check list items are addressed and recorded
- Actively transfer knowledge to younger members of the production organization and upskill them in LNG technology
- Assist Production Supervisors to manage LNG train trips, emergencies, and drills during start up and initial operation
Skills & Requirements:
- 5-7 years of LNG plant experience, with proven expertise in LNG storage and loading, marine and LNG jetty operations, commissioning, start up and shutdown
- Completion of secondary school
- 5+ experience of leading commissioning and startup of greenfield LNG mega projects and storage and loading systems
- Deep expertise of Shell Dual Mixed Refrigerant (DMR) and C3-MR liquefaction technology
- Experience in cold climate and arctic climate LNG plant operations, commissioning and start up
- Extensive shift supervision and LNG process and jetty operations expertise
- Experience in international LNG projects and working in multicultural environment will be advantageous
- Extensive knowledge of LNG tank and jetty design, cooldown and start up including LNG import activity
- Deep understanding of LNG shipping and marine operations and interface with LNG plant operations
- Deep understanding of LNG end-to-end value chain, production planning and scheduling and stakeholder management
- Extensive knowledge of industry safe work processes including: Permit to Work, Lock Out Tag Out, SIMOPS
- Extensive knowledge of HSSE and Process Safety requirements in a related industry
- Emergency Response experience and knowledge of Incident Command System would be an asset
- Experience working with and knowledge of Incident Investigation process and Learning From Incidents work processes would be an asset
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex technical issues during LNG start up and operations and develop optimum solutions safely
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor young operations team members on LNG technology to develop local LNG Canada expertise
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and be comfortable with change and ambiguity during CSU period
- Ability to communicate in English
Dimensions:
- Some extended international travel required during project execution phase
- Extra hours, afterhours coverage and/or shiftwork may be required particularly during the project execution (pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up) phase
- Reports directly to the Deputy Head of Production
- No direct reports but must have advanced influencing skills
