Our client is hiring a Cost Engineer to join their team on a 1-year contract assignment, working in Houston, TX.
To manage the Cost Engineering deliverables for Nakika projects and other GoM projects as required
• Excellent computer competency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams
• Proficient use of SAP and SharePoint systems
• Mathematical skills
• Min of 3 years experience in a similar position in the Oil and Gas industry
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong commitment to HSSE
• Experience working with large contractor organizations
• High level of self-motivation
• Experience performing effectively in a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural environment
Responsibilities |
• Demonstrate safety leadership, maintain standards of safety and comply with Company’s HSE requirements
• Participate as part of the team on delivery of proper HSE behavior in everyday activities and deliver personal HSE inputs.
• Prepare cost data including but not limited to budgets, commitments, VOWD (value of work done), forecasting, expenditure phasing, monthly project reporting, variance analysis, pressures and opportunities reporting
• Provide cost input to assist in the preparation of project MoCs, project risks, and be involved in its implementation
• Ensure correct coding of all requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, estimates, and develop and maintain all required cost logs and registers
• Ensure all invoice-supporting documentation is readily available for auditing by Partners to facilitate cost recovery
• Work with cost control tools including SAP, Change and Trend Registers, digital performance management tool, etc
• Assist in the Analysis of data to understand variances from plan and impact of actual performance on total installed costs
• Monthly cost reconciliation between SAP and Cost Manager. Reconciliation of actual costs with the latest forecasted/ budgeted numbers for each individual cost code, contract and contractor cost reports
• Assist other Cost Team members when required
• Technical verification of subcontractors invoices
• Cost Allocations if applicable
• Update the forecast phasing sheets and VOWD numbers based on the information received during the meetings and from the emails
• Preparation of project cost reports and cost forecasts in accordance with the Cost Reporting Calendar
• Respond to ad hoc requests for data, data analysis, tools, presentation materials etc
• Support in cost report preparations for management and Central Team
• Prepare Pressures and Opportunities, Variance and other analysis reports
• All necessary supporting activities for preparation of MCE (Master Control Estimates) reports
• Issue the monthly information updates to all CAMs (Contract Accountable Managers) after reporting month end and update the latest files
