Overview
We are currently recruiting two experienced Contract Administrators to work on the Metro Tunnel Project with one of the nation’s largest contractors.
Your role will be to assist in the preparations and negotiation with sub-contractors for quotations and letting of contracts and provide contract administration services to assist in cost control of the project.
Location- Melbourne CBD
Duration- Permanent (project based)
Responsibilities
- Draft scopes of works and tender packages to accompany requests for quotations (RFQ) issued to subcontractors for projects.
- Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation’s conditions relating to contracts
- Operate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum.
- Minimise subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims where possible
- Cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts
- Notify project management teams of any cost issues
- Interpret specifications and drawings to understand scope of works for the project at Head Contract and Sub-Contract scope level.
- Ensure that code compliance is maintained among subcontractors
- Reporting on commercial performance of the contract
- Process and recommend progress claims for work completed and refer disputed claims to relevant managers
Required Experience
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Excel and exposure to a contract management system (CRM).
- 2+ years’ experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industry.
- Understanding of document control experience in accordance with records management procedures.
- Building and Tier 1 experience preferred, as is rail / infrastructure experience
