Job description
Key Accountabilities
• Aids the Civil Construction Management Team (CMT) with daily tasks and general support
• Coordinate field oversight of execution as well as all safety reporting
• Coordinate construction and reclamation scheduling of all minor projects
• Review and evaluate execution strategy as well as estimates, spend and forecasting for projects
• Continuously evaluates opportunities to improve systems and process (benchmarking, training, lessons learned, etc.).
• Ensure the Civil CMT understands daily work activities along with associated risks while ensuring effective mitigation is in place
• Provide support for Contractors during project execution
• Responsible to ensure all projects are closed out with appropriate documentation for construction
• Work with internal stakeholders for access requests and coordinate surface lease inspection reports (SLIR), cost estimates, mapping, and execution support for the projects
• Work with Remediation & Reclamation team to establish annual ARO estimates and annual LRP
• Identify, track and report annual reclamation locations along with status (summer locations, earthworks, tree planting, rec certifications, etc.)
• Provide approval for any Water Act requirements for construction and surface access diversion for construction programs including all required reporting
• Maintain and monitor current vendor rates for all Civil Earthworks and determine rates of placement (ROP’s) for future estimating based on these rates
• Encourage HSE performance by communicating, fostering, and supporting relevant policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements, and objectives
• Promote the use of HSE tools and concepts such as HRO and Life Saving Rule Verifications
• Coordinate and participate in Contractor Kick-Off meetings prior to execution
• Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with policy and processes
• Provide Contractor performance feedback as requested
• Ensure technical tools are utilized efficiently and that documentation is controlled as per policy
Qualifications:
• Professional designation (P. Eng, RPF, P. Bio) or relevant industry experience in soil science, agriculture, forestry, environmental science, geography, or environmental engineering
• 7+ years in upstream Oil & Gas construction and reclamation activities
• Excellent knowledge of environmental legislation in Western Canada as it pertains to construction and reclamation
• Valid driver’s license
• Experience in civil earthworks and reclamation an advantage
• Technologically proficient with tools such as SAP, SiteView and all Microsoft applications
• Applies broad range of competencies to develop solutions to complex problems
• Excellent planning and organization skills
• Effective communicator (written and oral)
