Airswift is seeking a Commerical Logistics Specialist to work on a 12-18 months contract with a major Chemicals Company in Calgary, AB.
This Export Specialist will be supporting the safe and reliable supply chains to meet export sales requirements and improve the customer experience. They'll be expected to actively participate in the commercial and service management of export supply chain offsite facilities (packaging, warehousing, and drayage services), ocean freight, air freight and LCL suppliers.
Responsibilities
Commercial Transaction Management:
- Export Carrier Rate Schedule and Rate Database management, carrier contract summaries
- SAP rate route updates and maintenance
- ZF65 SAP Condition Canadian Estimated Freight Value spreadsheet
- Export Invoice Reconciliation including container cleaning/damage issues, Summary Billing, GST, Accessorial Authorization Matrix
- New freight payables vendors, Supplier credit approvals, Vendor view access approvals
- Air & LCL Rate Management
- Accident/Incident Response for Export Freight, Export Claims management & Complaint Advocate, Responsible Care Assessments & Initial Risk Determination
Commercial Analytical Management:
- Export Carrier Monthly Forecasting
- Export Carrier Stewardship Reporting; Productivity Charts
- Preparing logistics options and supply chain costings
- Export supply chain summary (current rail, packaging, drayage and ocean freight cost comparisons and supply chain capacity)
- Packaging cost matrix
- PE & Performance Styrenics Export Logistics Freight Cost Matrix & Communication
- Root cause analysis and process improvement
- Promote Company's Responsible Care and sustainability initiatives; lead investigations of service failures and Responsible Care incidents and execute corrective action plans
- Manage reporting for supplier performance and stewardship programs
- Administer Responsible Care Outreach Program requirements for 3PL, ocean, air and LCL service providers
- Leads/accountable with other team members to manage SAP data integrity, Business Objects, Excel, Sharepoint and RC data and information systems.
- Develop analytical and management tools, including analyst procedures, to support commercial activities
- Identify variances and improvement opportunities to enhance system processes; measure performance to apply corrective action to eliminate variances
- Utilize formal Change Management tools when implementing / altering supply chains and process adjustments
- Prepare presentations, reports and communications to stakeholders
- Foster internal and external relationships
Requirements
- University degree with 5–7 years related experience and continued professional development or 10+ years combination of post-secondary education and related experience and continued professional development.
- Advanced analytical skills / aptitude
- SAP, Business Objects, Excel, SharePoint expertise
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to balance and managing the priorities of project work, freight movements, structured reporting, transaction management and other requests / deadlines
- Experienced in balancing operational requirements with strategy development, data administration, reporting
- Interact and collaborate with numerous internal and external departments and companies
- Excellent organization skills
