Our client, major LNG Operator in Qatar, is hiring for Civil/Architectural Engineer to work for Camp Accommodation Project under the LNG expansion multi-billion project. This is a contract and residential role to be based in Ras Laffan, Qatar.
Lead and coordinate EPC execution for all Onshore Project process and non-process buildings, including Engineering Surveillance, Management of Change, schedule and progress monitoring, Specification Deviations, project reviews, procurement and construction. Lead engineering discipline technical reviews for architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and loss prevention, including functional support as required. Manage interfaces among Engineering, Construction, Systems Completion and Operations to obtain timely stakeholder input and decisions
Key Job Accountabilities:
Drive the EPC contractors engineering execution for all buildings and to ensure contractor delivers to plan.
Technical Focal Point for the building layout and design for the process and non-process building.
Prepare and release a variety of regular and ad-hoc reports to Management as well as correspondence/memorandum to coordinate work activities.
Monitor performance of contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, PMT and service providers supervised and develops KPIs to assist in developing and executing mitigations when plans are not being achieved.
Understand interdiscipline dependancies to be able to make judgements on overall technical decisions having multi-dicisipline impacts. Applies risk management techniques to facilitate decision making
Clear understanding of change management process and leads team to document and justify and manage risks associated with design change.
Lead effort to develop building engineering execution plans to support procurement, construction and commissioning to ensure plans are clearly understood by the CONTRACTOR and PMT and are jointly working as a team to drive to key milestones to support execution sequence.
Develop building engineering surveillance plan to report on status of building design progress
Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Knowledge and/or Experience
Minimum of fifteen (15) years’ experience in EPC projects, including detailed design and construction phases
Experience in the design and construction of buildings associated with oil and gas processing facilities (control room building/substations/ITR Buildings etc) and non-process buildings (camp accommodations, administration buildings, etc)
Knowledge and experience of design/construction of buildings in the middle east, requirements for the extreme heat conditions
Knowledge of the Industry Standards associated with the safe siting and design of buildings within oil and gas processing facilities
Knowledge of the design of buildings to withstand blast and toxic gas release scenarios, including the design and installation of the MEP/HVAC systems
Understanding of Building Information Modelling (BIM) or other 3D methods, and how such methods can be used to improve the efficient planning, design and construction of the buildings
Field engineering experience is desirable
Experience with RLIC requirements is desirable
