Our client, a Public Sector is seeking a Board Secretary to work within their facilities located in Papua New Guinea. Over 5 years of relevant work experience in a senior role. Bachelor’s Degree in Law/Business or a related discipline from a recognized institution.

Secretarial and management To provide high level secretarial and management support services to the office of the National Forest Board (NFB) ensuring the Board to function effectively |

Board meetings Arrange & organise logistics for Board Meetings including calling of Board Submissions from the Management and provide agenda Items including dissemination of Board submissions to Board members on timely basis. |

Minutes and Resolutions To provide high level secretarial support in taking notes and writing minutes of the meeting, prepare and disseminate resolutions of the Board ensuring that decisions of the Board are implemented by management in a timely manner. |

Board Administrative Support To provide effective and timely organisation and administrative support in relation to stipend administration, travel, accommodation and other related support to the NFB and its members so that they carry out their statutory functions and responsibilities accordingly |

Provide administrative services to the Advisory Committees of the NFB and other committees |

Induction To facilitate induction and training for new and old Board members of their statutory functions and responsibilities, so that they are able to competently fulfill their mandated role. |

Advice to Managing Director To provide technical and professional advice and assistance to the Managing Director in relation to the activities of the Board, the implementation of Board resolutions, and other advice allowing for Board affairs and decisions to be executed promptly. |

Records Management To ensure the management of historical records of NFB minutes, resolutions etc., by way of hard copies and through the company’s network filing system are maintained for future reference |

Administration and Management To develop the Secretariat’s annual budget, and to maintain prudent expenditure control expenditure. To undertake the EPPA process, train, and encourage Board Secretariat staff to be competent in attending to their role for the smooth operation of the Board |

Policy research & development To undertake research and development of core policies in regard to the technical areas of the Secretariats roles and responsibilities to ensure efficiency in delivering Board services |

Ensure that staff of the Branch are kept up to date with current developments in forestry |

Plan and carry out the development of staff in the Branch in carrying out their roles and responsibilities to a high standard. |
