Electrical/Instrument Maintenance Planner - Contract - Curtis Island

Our client an integrated oil and gas major is seeking an Electrical and Instrument professional with a background in planning to join their team in Gladstone to work on Curtis Island. This will be a local role working Monday through Friday.

As the successful applicant you will have proven experience in a similar role working as a discipline planner on LNG plant. In a larger team you can demonstrate involvement in both greenfield and brownfield scope.


Diagnose the failure mode of equipment (where possible through non-obtrusive means).
Develop work packages for routine priority corrective work, which involves among others:

  • Scoping work with due consideration to risks and controls.
  • Retrieving or creating task lists, with manpower requirements and duration estimates.
  • Defining and initiating procurement of required materials, services and resources.
  • Coordinating with Contracts & Procurement / Purchasing as necessary.
  • Preparing necessary documents needed for field execution.
  • Initiating Management of Change (MOC), for the execution of the work if required.

  • Monitoring critical dates for work in planning queue and raise deviation/deferral requests as required.

  • Using and updating library plans.

  • Source vendor quotations and generate purchase requisitions.

  • Monitoring work being planned and puts it into "job planning complete state" once all requirements are available/met.

  • Maintaining a list of ""executable"" work that the Scheduler can pull from as fill-in work.

  • Incorporating improvements from work pack feedback/red-line mark-ups coming from the frontline, such as updating task lists, BOMs, materials data, task durations.

  • Cataloging materials items as required.

Essential Skills:

Maintaining CMMS - Maximo.
Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance execution and/or supervision.
Knowledge of work management processes.
Development of maintenance and shutdown work packs
Able to collaborate and communicate well with all stakeholders.


Experience as a scheduler within the oil & gas industry, preferably on an LNG plant.
Able to work effectively with team/work groups.

Knowledge and expertise of scheduling practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to maintenance execution.
Display a level of technical skills/knowledge in job related areas and keep abreast of current developments and trends in the area of expertise.
Knowledge of statutory requirements and management of safety critical equipment.

This is a position to be based locally in Gladstone - ideally you will have worked on LNG plant before in a maintenance planning role or project planning role in an E&I discipline.

Market rate paid to the successful individual with a long-term contract on offer. Proven experience in LNG plant scheduling practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to maintenance execution are essential.
